Earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from Marmara University in 2001, Bayrak went on to complete her Master's in cinema and television programming at Istanbul Bilgi University Institute of Social Sciences in 2005. She also achieved proficiency in art from Marmara University Institute of Fine Arts' Department of Painting in 2008, as well as a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Wales in 2011. Bayrak questions the credibility of grand narratives, historical events, and societal structures, often utilising ephemeral elements, everyday documents, and both vintage and contemporary books to challenge conventional wisdom and construct alternative narratives.

 

The artist has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Berlin, Ghent, Seoul, Hong Kong and Istanbul. Between 2012 and 2019, she held six solo exhibitions in Istanbul and one solo exhibition in New York. She has won various awards, including "Akbank Art Contemporary Artists Achievement Award" and "Moleskine 2.0 Design Competition first prize". The artist has works in private collections in Turkey, the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Italy and Germany, and in the permanent collection of Odunpazarı Modern Museum. In addition to actively producing contemporary art, the artist, who lectures in the field of art-design, has co-authored a book titled "an essay on the problem of meaning in contemporary art".
