Sultan Burcu Demir completed her undergraduate studies in Sculpture at Anadolu University's Faculty of Fine Arts in 2009, followed by a master's degree from Hacettepe University in 2012, and her proficiency in art in 2018. Beyond her participation in both national and international group shows, she has staged two solo exhibitions: "Kütüphane" at maumau in 2015 and "Perezhivanie" at Veysi Paşa Mansion, Istanbul, in 2021. Currently based in Ankara, Demir serves as a research assistant at Hacettepe University's Faculty of Fine Arts.

 

In her recent works, Demir has refined her focus on the concept of found objects, zeroing in on specific items that have undergone shifts in utility due to various human developments—economic, political, and scientific. She manipulates these objects, altering their forms and functionalities. By decoding their original purposes, she seeks to create art that both illuminates their historical contexts and aesthetically revitalizes them.
